The most valuable asset you have is your List/s of Subscribers. To monetize those Lists to the maximum effect you have to engage with the Subscribers and create a relationship that will result in their always opening the emails you send them.
An important part of achieving that is that you ONLY send information to individual Subscribers that they will be interested in. Interesting information about Spa’s, Beauty Treatments and Women’s Apparrel is NOT going to be of much interest to the Male population, whilst Women will love it. News about local Gymnasiums and Special Offers available right now will be of interest to those under 50 or so – but not to many of those over 60!
To target your Campaigns in that way you have to gather far more information about your Subscribers than simply their email address!! We therefore have a basic “Default List” that includes the fields identified below as Basic Default Fields. The City, State and Country are populated automatically for all Subscribers. Age and Gender are populated if the Subscriber subscribed using a Facebook Button
AND you need to have a system such as SendReach that can drill down as many levels as you require into Subscriber Records to create Segments and seperate Lists based on the data in a Subscriber Record and/or on Subscriber Actions.
Experienced SR Users plan their Lists with great care, and structure Subscriber Records with Custom Fields to record that invaluable extra data.
As Lists have the facility to be so unique (essential when catering for different Niches or Customers) one needs to create a “Default” List structure that caters for the majority of requirements. That “Default” can then be used over and over again (simply use the Copy (cc) button in “Lists”), being simply modified for any particular and specific requirement.
One Default List structures appears to have evolved as below. ANY of the fields not required in a Subscribe Form for that List simply have the Status of the field set to “Hidden” which means it is NOT visible to a Subscriber, but is there to record any data acquired, such as Opens or Clicks.
It should be noted that the system automatically sets up whatever fields are included in an Imported List and any that you do not require should be deleted.
There are twelve default fields in all SR Lists – the first ones below – the remainder are setup as Custom Fields.
Date Added – (Not Editable) (System Field)
IP Address Used – (Not Editable) (System Field)
Status – (Unconfirmed – Confirmed – Unsubscribed – Blacklisted) (System Field)

Mail To [MAILTO] – Blank field to add Yes to, to only mail to those with Yes in that field – create a Segment for that) (sort order 1)
The sort order should be based on which fields are most often viewed/used – and can be changed to what best suits your requirements, as in the page below at “Lists” > Your List > “Custom Fields”.
The result is seen in “Lists” > Your List > “Subscribers” > “View All”.
