Clickable Links are a vital part of most Campaigns – and have to be created in the appropriate way – whilst avoiding the Spam Filters.
There should never be more than one Link in a Campaign to the same URL, unless the content is more than 30 lines long – and even then never more than two links. Any more is immediately picked up by the Spam Filters – and frankly is like shouting at your Subscriber anyway.
You should always use the “Insert a Hyperlink” feature to avoid long URL links which just look very unprofessional.
For some inexplicable reason, some Spam Filters now object to emails that contain clickable links to both http and https addresses, in the one email – bizzare. The result is either immediate routing to the spam folder, or for sure if you send a few like that to the same recipients.
The best solution is to just use http (even when the URL is to a https as most ecommerce sites are) as 99.9999% of https sites automatically redirect a http call to their https URL.
If you just paste the link URL straight into your Campaign without using the “Insert Link” function, it cannot be tracked or a click on it recorded.
You need to set “URL Tracking” to Yes on the Campaign Setup Page as per the screen shot below.
You can track Clicks on more than one Link in a Campaign seperately, recording which Subscriber Clicked the Link, and time/date along with the Subscriber’s IP Address.
All Clicks are included in the Campaign Stats, and a World Map can be viewed giving Geo-location of all Clicks.
All Opens are automatically recorded and included in the Stats, Subscriber, time/date and IP Address, and can therefore also be viewed on the World Map.
