There are occasions when you may need to Edit an existing Autoresponder – for instance maybe a Coupon Code has to be updated once a month, or the link to a Free Offer modified.
In “Campaigns” view each one that is an Autoresponder set to “Send”. They have three action Icons at the right hand side. The center one is to “Pause sending” the Autoresponder.
The Icons then change to inlude one to “Edit” the Autoresponder.
Clicking that “Edit” Icon opens up the Autoresponder Setup, clicking “Template” will then take you to the Main Template containing the content you want to update.
Having updated the content click “Save Template” then “Test Template” and send it to yourself to check your updates are OK.
Once you have Activated the Autoresponder, you CANNOT change the List the Autoresponder is set to go out to. If you do need the same Autoresponder to go out to additional Lists, just create a Copy (cc) of the Autoresponse, then change the List selection before your Activate the Autoresponder.
Then Click “Save and Next” and “Save and Activate” which stops the “Pause”. Any Autoreponses that would have gone out during the time you had it “Paused” will now be sent out.
The other thing you cannot Edit/Change in an Autoresponse once it has been set “Activated” is the Name you gave the Autoresponse.
Should it be essential that you do so there is a work around. Using the (cc) copy function once you have paused the Autoresponder will create a direct copy which will still be in “Draft” form, and therefore the name can be Edited. Save that Name change on the first page of Campaign Setup. You can then go delete the original Autoresponder and set the now re-named one to “Send”.
