We have had various instances of Campaigns containing THOUSANDS of lines of “backgound image” HTML Code, for no apparent reason, as below.
The results are NOT GOOD as the result is a huge file. Gmail “clip” emails of over 102kb – displaying a message “Click to view full message” which is not very User friendly to say the least, and has a negative effect on actual Open rates, What is worse is that in doing that they delete any tracking code so no “Opens” are recorded anyway. Other Email Clients are far more likely to send such large emails to the spam folder.
The other issue is that the rate of accepting large emails is often throttled by Email Clients so sending a List of even only 5k subscribers can take hours.
The issue is mainly caused by the use of an Application / Plugin called “Grammarly” (please Google that for a full description but it corrects grammar and spelling amongst other things), although there may well be other similar Applications that can have the same effect.
Grammarly works in the background even when you are in another Application, such as Word, or Notepad or any Application in which you create text, such as SendReach. Unfortunately it only works correctly with some Applications, and totally screws up in others – including SendReach.
You therefore need to follow the following steps to avoid the issue:-
- Have Grammarly operative in the background
- Login in to SendReach
- De-activate Grammarly whilst in SendReach
- Grammarly will now remember you de-activated it whilst in SendReach
- Every time you now login to SendReach Grammarly will automatically de-activeate itself whilst you are in SendReach
- Avoid creating Campaign content in any other Application with Grammarly “Active”
NOTE: May we please request that you let us know if you experience similar issues with any other grammar / spellchecking App.
